The Cincinnati Open, one of the world’s premier tennis tournaments, is undergoing a significant transformation. Through their generosity and dedication, these construction teams have extended a helping hand to those in need, fostering goodwill and solidarity during the holiday season.

A Heartfelt Gesture That Resonates Beyond the Construction Site

Empowering Local Families Through Generosity

The bustling streets of Mason have seen an influx of dedicated workers from Barton Malow and its subcontractors as they embarked on the ambitious project to expand the Cincinnati Open campus. Beyond their professional duties, these individuals found ways to give back to the community that has warmly welcomed them. Through the Mason Deerfield Chamber, the construction team connected with St. Susanna Catholic Parish, where seven families were identified as needing assistance for a joyous Christmas. The employees and subcontractors responded with overwhelming enthusiasm, "adopting" all seven families and ensuring their wish lists were fulfilled. The donated items ranged from essential needs like clothing and toiletries to heartwarming gifts such as toys for children. This initiative showcased the compassionate spirit of the construction teams, who went above and beyond to ensure no family was left behind during the festive season. The response was nothing short of heartwarming, according to Beau Miller, Senior Project Manager at Barton Malow. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have shown immense hospitality while the project was underway. This collaborative effort exemplified the true spirit of community support and unity.

Extending Generosity Beyond Gifts

In addition to the generous donations of nearly 500 gifts, the construction teams collected extra cash and gift cards, which were used to contribute $1,000 worth of food to the Mason Food Pantry. This additional support came at a crucial time when the pantry was actively seeking donations for the holiday season. The combined efforts of Barton Malow and its subcontractors ensured that more families could enjoy a bountiful meal during the holidays. This level of generosity underscores the commitment of the construction teams to go beyond their professional responsibilities. By addressing both immediate and long-term needs, they have made a lasting impact on the community. The food donation provided much-needed relief to the pantry, enabling it to continue supporting families throughout the year.

A Comprehensive Campus Expansion

Work on the Cincinnati Open’s campus expansion began shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 tournament and will be completed in time for the 2025 event. This ambitious project aims to nearly double the size of the campus, expanding it to over 40 acres. The growth will accommodate larger player fields, extending from 56 to 96 singles players, and increasing the tournament duration from nine to 14 days. The expanded facilities will not only enhance the tournament experience but also offer year-round benefits to the public. New amenities include additional outdoor tennis courts, an indoor tennis center, pickleball and padel courts, and a restaurant open throughout the year. These enhancements will significantly boost Mason’s recreational offerings and attract more visitors to the area.Founded in 1899, the Cincinnati Open holds a prestigious place among global tennis events, being one of five tournaments to feature concurrent ATP and WTA 1000-level competitions. The 2024 edition drew over 200,000 spectators and crowned Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner as singles champions. With the upcoming changes, the 2025 Cincinnati Open promises to be even more spectacular, held from August 5-18.
