The Ottawa University men's basketball team secured a resounding 93-61 victory over Kansas Christian College in the Andy Carrier Memorial Basketball Classic, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive tenacity. The Braves' dominant performance was highlighted by Deondre Buggage's milestone achievement of reaching 1,000 points in an OU uniform.

The Braves wasted no time in asserting their authority, racing out to a 14-6 lead in the opening minutes of the first half. However, the resilient Falcons refused to back down, rallying to cut the deficit to a mere one point, 19-18. Undeterred, the Braves responded with an 11-0 run, extending their lead to a commanding 30-18 with 4:21 remaining in the half.

Maintaining Momentum Through the Second Half

The Braves continued to build on their lead in the second half, extending it to 20 points, 47-27, on a basket by Jayden Hibbitt. Refusing to let up, OU further increased their advantage to a staggering 34 points, 80-46, with 6:50 left in the contest, courtesy of a basket by Sam Williams. The Falcons were unable to mount a significant comeback, and the Braves ultimately secured a decisive 93-61 victory.

Offensive Efficiency and Defensive Dominance

The Braves' offensive prowess was on full display, as they shot an impressive 52.1% from the field, 47.8% from behind the 3-point line, and 66.7% from the free-throw line. Jayden Hibbitt led the Braves in scoring with 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting, while PJ Twa came off the bench to contribute 13 points. Keith Robinson and Deondre Buggage each finished the game with 12 points apiece, with Buggage's first basket of the game marking a significant milestone as he reached the 1,000-point mark in an OU uniform. Robinson also led the Braves with eight rebounds, and Buggage dished out seven assists, while Najee Jones recorded three steals.
