Invited to the Fighter Club on RMC Sport on Sunday evening, Bruno Surace reflected on his victory. "It was clear that he didn't expect me there and that he wanted to take care of his return home before having a great 2025 in the super-middleweight category (-76.2kg). I came to spoil this party," he said with pride.Facing Munguia, who had 44 victories in 45 fights before this battle, Bruno Surace even moved up a weight class for the occasion. He held a European silver title in the middleweight category (-72,574 kg). "I came here to show who I am and get discovered by a wider audience," he recounted. "It was a completely bonus operation for me; there was no negative pressure related to it."This experience has opened up new opportunities for him. Rematch and Future Plans

Sent to the canvas in the second round, Bruno Surace ultimately achieved a knockout of his opponent in the sixth round with a right hook. "We noticed that he had a small defensive relaxation after each of his attacks," the Frenchman explained. According to the reference BoxRec classification, he is now ninth in the world in the super-middleweight category. "The goal was to make him follow. It took me a few rounds to find the right timing."Unknown to the general public before this fight against one of the boxing greats, Bruno Surace risks seeing his initial plans modified. "I think there is definitely the perspective of a rematch," he mentioned, not knowing whether Munguia would actually claim it.Regarding his future, he said, "There may be other opportunities in the super-middleweight category, but my category is the middleweights.
