Earlier this year, BMW shared initial technical insights, and the debut of the Concept M Neue Klasse at Le Mans now offers a much clearer vision of what the production model, likely to be named the iM3, will look like when it hits the market in 2027. This unveiling underscores BMW's commitment to blending its iconic M performance lineage with innovative electric vehicle technology.
BMW emphasizes that the concept embodies a new M design language, signaling a bold direction for the brand's all-electric future. The vehicle's design clearly draws inspiration from the i3 sedan, which is slated for release later this year. Its sharp, pointed front end is accentuated by crisp body lines and muscular rear fenders, giving the sedan a formidable and aggressive stance. The conjoined headlights and kidney grille form distinctive horizontal elements, bisected by a body-colored spine, with the BMW badge prominently displayed above. Notably, the headlights feature two yellow slashes, a design cue borrowed from the M Hybrid V8 race car at Le Mans.
