Experience Elevated Performance: The New Bentley Continental GT 'S' Models
Introducing Bentley's Strategic Lineup Expansion
Bentley is refining its Continental GT range by unveiling two new 'S' performance variants: a coupe and a convertible. This strategic addition is designed to fit precisely between the foundational GT model and the more potent Speed versions, offering a nuanced choice for discerning drivers.
Enhanced Driving Dynamics and Acoustic Experience
Both the Continental GT S and GTC S models are equipped with the robust 671-horsepower twin-turbocharged hybrid V8 engine, inherited from the standard models. A key upgrade, however, is the integration of a sport-tuned exhaust system, promising a more exhilarating auditory experience. Beyond sound, these 'S' variants adopt the sophisticated Bentley Performance Active Chassis system, previously seen in the Speed and Mulliner trims. This inclusion means drivers will benefit from advanced features such as torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, an electronic limited-slip differential, enhanced dampers, and an active anti-roll system, all contributing to superior handling without directly boosting straight-line speed.
Distinctive Aesthetics: The Blackline Specification
To ensure the new GT S and GTC S models visually stand apart, Bentley introduces the optional Blackline Specification. This aesthetic package replaces traditional chrome accents with a sleek, dark finish, imparting a more assertive and modern presence. Key elements include tinted headlights and taillights, black tailpipes, a black rear diffuser, and a gloss-black grille and front spoiler. Even the iconic winged 'B' logo receives a black treatment, reinforcing the car's distinctive appeal.
Anticipated Pricing and Market Positioning
While official pricing details for the GT S and GTC S have not yet been disclosed, industry analysts anticipate these models will be positioned strategically between the entry-level Continental GT and the range-topping Speed variants. Preliminary estimates suggest the GT S coupe could be priced around $275,000, with the GTC S convertible potentially reaching approximately $300,000, reflecting their enhanced features and exclusive positioning within the luxury segment.
