The global travel retail giant Avolta has marked its entry into Tunisia, securing a contract to establish 15 duty-free shops across five major airports. These locations—Tunis-Carthage, Djerba-Zarzis, Sfax-Thyna, Tozeur-Nefta, and Tabarka-Aïn Draham—account for nearly 80% of the country's air traffic. This strategic move underscores the company's commitment to expanding its geographical footprint as international tourism rebounds to pre-pandemic levels.

Visitors can anticipate a diverse selection of products within these new outlets, including perfumes, cosmetics, alcoholic beverages, and confectionery. Avolta will also introduce specialized concepts like Mind, Body & Soul and Haute Parfumerie to the Tunisian market. The company's regional director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Luis Marin, highlighted that entering Tunisia means tapping into one of Africa's most vibrant duty-free markets while reinforcing their Mediterranean presence. He emphasized the importance of blending international concepts with local uniqueness.

This expansion reflects Avolta's dedication to enriching the travel experience by offering a wide array of shopping options in various transportation hubs. Operating over 1000 sites in 73 countries, Avolta continues to demonstrate its leadership in the travel retail sector. Through this venture, the company not only boosts economic activities in Tunisia but also promotes cultural exchange, showcasing how businesses can thrive while respecting and celebrating local heritage.
