The Bexar County Sheriff's Office received a call around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, reporting that a person driving an orange Dodge truck had been continuously dumping trash on the property of a car lot located in the 12700 block of U.S. Highway 181. Gomez, along with another car lot employee, immediately gave chase in separate vehicles, determined to stop the illegal dumping.

According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, the driver of the Dodge truck pulled out a gun during the pursuit, but this did not deter Gomez and his colleague from continuing to follow the suspect.
