Troopers from the Lansing Post were alerted to the situation at around three in the morning. They received a call regarding two individuals seen entering the CN Railroad Distribution Center by crawling under the fence. This was their attempt to steal a car. Unfortunately, by the time the troopers arrived, the duo had already left the scene.

As the police began canvassing the area, they noticed two dark-colored jeeps leaving the vicinity near Billwood Hwy and Oak Hwy. This raised suspicions and led to a high-speed chase when the troopers attempted to stop them. One of the jeeps turned off its lights and sped away, putting the police in a difficult situation.

The icy road conditions added an extra layer of challenge. Despite the difficulties, the car crashed into a house on Oak Hwy. The driver immediately took off running into a nearby wooded area. It was a race against time as the police searched for the suspect.

Arrest and Investigation

After a thorough investigation, it was discovered that the crashed jeep was stolen from the Detroit area. The 24-year-old man from Detroit who was found near Davis Hwy and I-69 was taken into custody. He now faces a long list of charges, including running from police, driving a stolen vehicle, and driving with a suspended license.
