In its 29th year, the Art & Soul initiative has once again taken center stage in Indianapolis, celebrating African American artists who are influencing the city's cultural landscape. This year, a fellowship recipient, Kierra Ready, unveiled her latest exhibition titled "From the Inside Out" at Gallery 924. The program supports four artists annually, offering them financial grants, performance opportunities, media training, and exposure through exhibitions. Through this platform, untold narratives find voice, empowering creators to reach new audiences and achieve greater recognition.

Every year, the Art & Soul program selects four individuals whose talents span various artistic domains. According to Melissa Rowe, director of marketing and communications at the Indy Arts Council, these artists receive opportunities they might not otherwise have access to. Among this year’s honorees is Kierra Ready, a visual artist whose work explores themes of inner joy and its outward expression.
