What else have we learned from the video?
The images used in the video depict two different lifestyles. You have the obligatory lifestyle SUV shots of people diving off cliffs, climbing rock faces, camping, and swimming in a lake. But if you look closely, you’ll also see a man wielding a pickaxe, harvesting equipment in action on a farm, and an exhausted man wiping the sweat off his brow after a long day working the farm.
This matches what we know about the two products Scout is working on. There will be a family-friendly SUV along the same lines as the Rivian R1S and a pickup truck. We believe that high-end pickup models will be as luxurious as the SUV, but it seems like Scout will aim it primarily at the blue-collar market.
CarBuzz recently discovered trademark filings suggesting the pickup will be called the Hauler (a bit on the nose), and it will compete with existing electric pickup trucks like the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Tesla Cybertruck. We believe the SUV may be called Reaper, but other possible names include Spirit, Tellus, and Travelstar.
