No feeling compares to witnessing the pure delight on a child's face as they play the game that Quebedeaux imparts his knowledge. Baseball offers a treasure trove of lessons such as teamwork, character building, perseverance, and these are the very qualities Quebedeaux aims to instill in the kids. It's not just about winning; it's about the growth and development that occurs on and off the field.

The Gents team consists mostly of sixth graders who are new to baseball. This program serves as a recreational platform to hone their skills. As Quebedeaux explains, "The more practice and repetition, the better the players become. This leads to a stronger high school team. Without a steady supply of freshmen, the high school team may face challenges in the future."

Overcoming Challenges and Community Support

Quebedeaux acknowledges that the team's first season may present difficulties as they are still in the developmental stage. However, he believes that ups and downs are an inherent part of life, and they will navigate through them together. The support from the community has been truly remarkable.

Gil Phadgett, the programs director for Tony Robichaux Sports Complex, was more than willing to offer a helping hand. He stated, "I told Glenn that I would assist him in any way possible. We provided catchers' gear, gloves, bats, and everything he needed to get this program off to a great start. It's a wonderful collaboration that benefits the students and the community."
