The Berks County Tennis Association is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated fifth annual Ellesse Pro Tennis Challenge, set to take place from Thursday, August 15th to Friday, August 16th at the Emkey Tennis Garden in Wyomissing. This prestigious event will once again bring world-class professional tennis to the heart of Berks County, offering sports enthusiasts an unparalleled opportunity to witness the exceptional skills of some of the world's top-ranked players.Elevating the Game: A Showcase of Exceptional Talent
A Stellar Lineup of ATP Professionals
The Ellesse Pro Tennis Challenge is set to feature an impressive lineup of six world-class professional tennis players, each with their own unique story and impressive accomplishments. Headlining the event are Frenchman Arthur Cazauz, ranked #90 in the world, and fellow Frenchman Kyrian Jacquet, ranked #212. Additionally, the event will welcome 2023 finalist and 2024 NCAA Division 1 Singles Finalist Michael Zheng, as well as world #223 Jon Choinski from Great Britain, New Zealand Davis Cupper and #1 player from New Zealand KP Pannu, and world #521 Felix Corwin.A Thrilling Tournament Format
The tournament will kick off on Thursday, August 15th, with round-robin matches scheduled at 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm, and a special night match at 7 pm. The action will continue on Friday, August 16th, with the final two round-robin matches taking place at 11 am and 12:30 pm, followed by the highly anticipated final match at 4 pm.A Legacy of Champions
The Ellesse Pro Tennis Challenge has a rich history, with past champions including Denis Kudla (2020), Makund Saisikumar (2021), Sumit Nagal (2022), and Fillip Misolic (2024). The event, presented by the Berks County Tennis Association, will benefit the City of Reading (COR Tennis) program through the Reading Recreation Commission, providing scholarships for underserved youth tennis players. In addition to the main tournament, the Ellesse Pro Tennis Challenge will also feature a special junior clinic on Tuesday, August 13th at 7:30 pm at Hampden Park. This one-hour clinic, presented by Diadem and hosted by the ATP Pros from the event, will provide an opportunity for juniors aged 12-18 to learn from the best and experience the sport up close.
