An 83-year-old woman is being treated at a Boston hospital after she was struck by a sport utility vehicle near a shopping center in Newton, according to the Massachusetts State Police.State police said the pedestrian crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday on Route 9 West, near The Shops at Chestnut Hill.Responding troopers discovered that a 2023 Audi Q5 had struck the woman, who was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with injuries that were reportedly minor in nature.The driver of the Audi SUV was issued a citation in connection with the crash, according to state police.
