Nathaniel Espinoza, a media advertising major at El Paso Community College, has been making waves with his brand HYONÖSIS. Driven by a passion for creating designs that transcend gender boundaries, Espinoza's work is characterized by bold, asymmetrical patterns and a focus on unisex silhouettes. His collections feature a harmonious blend of plaid, denim, and silk, showcasing a unique aesthetic that appeals to both men and women.Espinoza's designs have garnered attention from notable figures, including Mexican actress Majo Agular, who donned a striking hot pink HYONÖSIS two-piece suit for the November 2023 issue of EstiloDF Magazine. Content creator Benshorts also sported one of Espinoza's patched denim sets to the Eliot Awards, further solidifying the brand's growing presence.The designer's success, he says, is largely owed to the unwavering support and guidance of his EPCC counselors and faculty, particularly Jessica Del Rio and Professor Yasmin Ramirez. Hailing from El Paso, designer Jose Gaucin has been making waves with his brand GAUCIN Couture since graduating high school in 2022. Gaucin's mission is to make camp style a prominent trend within the El Paso fashion landscape, and his signature designs showcase his innovative approach.GAUCIN Couture's pieces are characterized by uncommon elements, such as patched jeans, exaggerated shoulder pads, layered faux leather and faux fur, and edgy see-through silhouettes. Vander Vanity, the stylist of El Paso rap celebrity Krystall Poppin, has recognized GAUCIN Couture as his number-one local brand, praising Gaucin's innovative vision."Gaucin has been one of my favorite designers to work and collaborate with because he's so innovative," Vanity said. "I think he's just so ahead of his time right now that I know people will start dressing with his pieces."Vanity's admiration for Gaucin's work ethic extends beyond the designer's unique aesthetic; he also appreciates Gaucin's ability to create pieces that seamlessly fit Poppin's image. "We have a whole team now and we're creating pieces from scratch or even upcycling pieces," Vanity shared. Since launching her business in 2021, Lozano has evolved from producing silk COVID-19 masks to crafting vivid, high-fashion pieces.In 2022, one of Lozano's mini-dresses made a feature appearance in Vogue Mexico, further elevating the brand's profile.
