(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two adults and a 2-year-old girl were rescued after crashing their SUV into a Naperville retention pond Tuesday afternoon.

First responders were called to the 3300 block of Cedar Glade Road and found a white SUV partially submerged.  Three police officers reportedly jumped into the water and broke the windows to pull a man, a woman and the toddler to safety.

Police say it appears the accident was caused when the driver mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal and drove into the water.

No serious injuries were reported. The incident occurred around 1 p.m.
