Thrilling Grids Await in the Revamped Asian Le Mans Series

The Asian Le Mans Series is set to embark on an exciting new chapter, with a provisional 2024/25 season entry list revealing a capacity field of 44 cars. This marks a significant increase from the previous season, showcasing the growing popularity and appeal of this premier endurance racing championship.

Elevating the Endurance Experience in Asia

LMP2: The Pinnacle of Prototype Racing

The LMP2 class will be the centerpiece of the series, with 11 Oreca 07-Gibsons vying for overall honors. Established teams like Proton Competition, Algarve Pro Racing, and AF Corse will field two-car efforts, while newcomers RD Limited and Pure Rxcing join the fray. RD Limited, owned by 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Romain Dumas, brings its off-road expertise to the tarmac, while Pure Rxcing steps up from the GT ranks with support from TF Sport.

LMP3: A Showcase of Emerging Talent

The LMP3 category will feature an all-Ligier JS P320-Nissan field, with Graff Racing, RLR M Sport, Bretton Racing, Ultimate, Inter Europol Competition, and High Class Racing battling it out. While some familiar faces return, the series has also seen the departure of the title-winning Cool Racing squad and other teams from the previous season.

GT: A Diverse and Thrilling Spectacle

The GT class has experienced a significant expansion, with a staggering 27 cars representing a diverse array of manufacturers, including Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, Aston Martin, McLaren, Ferrari, and Lamborghini. Mercedes-AMG leads the charge with eight entries, including newcomers Climax Racing, Winward Racing, and 2 Seas Motorsport. Other new teams in the class include Car Collection (Porsche), Blackthorn (Aston Martin), Prime Speed Sport (Lamborghini), Tsunami RT (Porsche), and Origine (Porsche) and Absolute Racing (Ferrari) from the Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS.

A Promising Future Ahead

Frederic Lequien, the CEO of the Le Mans Endurance Management organization that runs the championship, expressed his delight at the record-breaking grid size. "We are extremely pleased to announce a maximum sized grid for the Asian Le Mans Series this year. The series continues to provide a very attractive programme to both existing and new teams, including the welcome arrival of two Chinese teams Climax Racing and Origine."The 2024/25 Asian Le Mans Series season will feature an expanded calendar, with six four-hour races across Sepang, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. This expansion, coupled with the influx of new teams and manufacturers, promises an endurance racing spectacle that will captivate fans and competitors alike in the Asian motorsport landscape.
