The Santa Barbara Eyeglass Factory, located in California, recently commemorated Kids Health Day. This special promotion, which was initiated 30 years ago, aimed to bestow the gift of sight upon children. The Eyeglass Factory went the extra mile by providing free eye exams and glasses to a remarkable 100 children. Astonishingly, some of these children had never had the opportunity to visit an eye doctor prior to this event.

Gregg Feldman's Leadership and Dedication

Eyeglass Factory President Gregg Feldman took the reins from his father Rick, who was the visionary behind this long-standing promotion. Both were present at the Milpas Street location, warmly welcoming children aged 18 and under, along with their parents and guardians. Their sole purpose was to ensure that these kids would have clear vision from now on. Feldman passionately shared, "All of these kids are truly the ones in need of help. The ones who are trying on their new glasses for the very first time. You can clearly see how much they require them, and the smiles on their faces when they start seeing things for the very first time." He also mentioned that some of the kids had never even seen an eye doctor before.

Adapting During COVID

During the challenging times of COVID, the Eyeglass Factory demonstrated its commitment by offering year-round glasses to kids who had a prescription and came in accompanied by a parent or guardian. This initiative allowed them to continue making a difference in the lives of children despite the pandemic.

Collaborative Efforts

The Eyeglass Factory actively collaborates with the school district, its dedicated teachers, and a Lions Club program. Through these partnerships, they are able to extend their reach and help more children achieve good eyesight. This collaborative approach showcases their dedication to the well-being of the community's children.
