Only models with at least two years of reliability data were included to calculate a predicted reliability score.

The results revealed some eye-opening information. Certain cars, trucks, and SUVs made it onto the list of the least reliable new vehicles. These models faced challenges in multiple problem areas, including the EV battery, charging systems, drive systems, climate systems, electrical accessories, brakes, body hardware, noises and leaks, and in-car electronics. It's important to note that there will always be exceptions, but this list provides valuable guidance for those seeking a reliable new car.

Specific Models and Their Scores

One model with a reliability score of 29/100 and an overall score of 56/100 had issues in areas such as the EV battery, charging, drive system, climate system, electrical accessories, brakes, body hardware, and more. Another model with a similar reliability score of 29/100 but an overall score of 52/100 faced problems in the engine, fuel system, minor transmission, electrical accessories, and other components.

There were also models with reliability scores ranging from 28/100 to 7/100, each with their own set of problem areas. Some had issues with the EV battery and charging, while others struggled with the transmission, drive system, and electrical accessories. These details highlight the importance of considering reliability when choosing a new car.

By referring to this comprehensive list, consumers can make more informed decisions and avoid potential headaches down the road. It's not just about the initial purchase price but also the long-term reliability and peace of mind that a reliable car provides.
