A DEALERSHIP expert has advised young drivers to look for specific used car models for their first reliable vehicles.

In a now-viral TikTok video, a professional car seller suggested two used cars for bargain hunters.

“Here are the best cars for teens in 2023 who don’t have their paren’t money,” the TikToker (@CardinaleCars) said in the post.

Cardinale Way is a conglomerate of dealerships in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The company has dealerships with 15 badges representing car manufacturers like Honda, Volkswagen, Stallantis, Hyundai, and Nissan.

The TikToker works for the Acura dealership.

The dealership expert had two main suggestions for browsing buyers:

1. ACURA TSX

The Acura TSX, a luxury mid-size sedan, can be had for under $5,000, the TikToker said.

Acura sold the luxury car between 2003 to 2014.

The car was an indirect replacement in the Acura lineup that had discontinued the Integra series sedans in 2001.

The TSX stopped production in 2014, giving way to the larger TX lineup of sedans in Acura’s portfolio.

Other car experts agree with the TikToker’s suggestion – the sedan received a 4.7 out of five star review from shoppers according to CarFax.

“Consider this similar to a Honda Accord,” the TikToker said.

“Ages like fine wine.”

2. HONDA ACCORD

The Accord is Honda Motor company’s non-luxury equivalent of the Acura TSX.

The TikToker said drivers can find an Accord for under $5,000.

He made the suggestion while standing in front of a Google search for the 2019 Accord.

CONSUMER REPORTS STUDIES

Consumer Reports recently released customer surveys around quality issues in cars.

The study looked into driver issues in 330,000 vehicles from the 2000 through 2023 model years.

Both Honda and Acura made the top-five for customer reported quality.

The top scores went to Lexus.

Toyota and Mini also received high praise.
